Description: Rolex GMT-Master II Ref 16710
Pre-owned Rolex GMT-Master II ref 16710 (1991) is the second expression of the original GMT Master II. Initially, the collection credited for uncoupling the GMT hand from the other centrally mounted hands featured a thicker movement and case. Ref. 16710, introduced in the late 1980s, took the innovative newly-independent GMT hand and gave it a slimmer caliber 3185, and then later caliber 3186 movement and a sleeker Oyster case. These important refinements made the ref. 16710 incredibly popular, and it remained in production until the mid-2000s when the ceramic generation was released. The example you see here from the early 1990s sports the widely sought-after Pepsi bezel, scratch-resistant sapphire, the caliber 3185, and Tritium.
